Project/Shell Business Process Updates for PM Books and PM Book Templates

We have PM Book Templates defined at a higher level than the Building Assets and PM Books.

Can the linked "Business Process Updates" (for Project/Shell) be used to push PM Book Template changes into PM Books located in Sub-Shells of the Shell in which the PM Book Template is defined?

If not, any ideas on the best way to do so?
