Updating rules when a BOM item changes

We are creating our first model in Oracle Configurator. We are doing some tests cause it is a complex model and it would become a very large model. We have a question regarding the rule's update.

If we substitute an item, we can do a mass change in order to update all related BOMs. How we can massively update rules that involve this item?
