Multiple time zones for some US states? Single time zones causing some SRs to be in wrong time zone

I'm curious about what other people have done to get time zones in the US mapped correctly in states that cover two time zones.

From everything I've gathered it seems that the default data in the HZ_TIMEZONE_MAPPING table only has one time zone for each state.

In one MOS doc - Data Missing In Hz_timezone_mapping For Different Regions For Various Countries. (Doc ID 1329012.1) - they are talking about countries and suggest that people use a third party data provider to get finer mappings.
