oem 13c when viewing job list from enterprise>job>activity why icant i increase the width of the col

in oem 13.3 when i look at the jobs list (from enterprise>job>activity) the columns take less than half the screen and there seems to be a hard limit. No matter what i do i cannot increase the columns width to fill the available space on the screen . has anyone got any ideas why this is? i have tried IE and chrome and they are both the same.
