Unable to launch content in OLM

After a scheduled maintenance outage this weekend we are having issues launching content for on line self paced courses. Has any one encountered similar issues?

We had applied the following patches 18390915, 16432515, 16619325 which should not have affected anything on the content server.

After coming out of the outage we recceive the following message 'error initializing communications with LMS'

Initially we were able to correct the issue after we noticed the following tmp directory had a massive amount of files in it

/opt/oracle/product/10giAS/j2ee/home/log/tmp

However the issue returned within a couple of hours and further subsequent clearing of the tmp directory failed to resolved the issue.
