Dependent Segment in the Accounting Flexfield

Hi,

Please let me know the implications on having dependent segments in the chart of accounts structure. Is it more preferable to have independent segments?

What are the effects on defining FSG reports when the accounting flexfield has many dependent segments? Also, please advice the level of difficulty of inquiring account balances when using dependent segments?

Hi

There is no implication in creating the dependent segment in your COA.

There is no difficulty in inquiring balances also in account inquiry screen

Oracle General Ledger doesn't support hierarchies for dependent segments,otherwise there are no difficulties in FSG as well
