Clone database owns production database's backups

Hi,

I did an rman duplicate. The database server crashed during restore of archivelogs. I recovered the database manually, set the new db_name in the spfile, created a new controlfile and did an open resetlogs, but did not change the dbid.

When I connected the clone database to the rman recovery catalog I discovered that it was already registered and had lots of backups. These were the backups of the production database. The path in the filenames had been changed to that of the clone database.

When the production database now connects to the recovery catalog it gets RMAN-20004.

Howdy, Stranger!
