How to turn on flashback during media recovery

edited Dec 8, 2014 1:10AM in Database Backup and Recovery (MOSC) 2 comments

First of all, I'd like to claim that the following method is based on my own test on 11.2.0.3/11.2.0.4. It does work, although I don't find any MOS note / document  to support that.

PS. Pls. forgive my typo and syntax error, anyway, English is not my "native" language!

By turning on flashback during media recovery, you'll have the flexibility to open resetlogs to verify if it's the exact time point you want, if not, just flashback and rolling forward again.

1. Recover database to a consistent point in time  ( e.g. after max completion_time of v$backup_datafile), including cotnrol files and datafiles;

Howdy, Stranger!
