    Let me take this opportunity to thank you for participating in the Oracle Support Community. Your contributions are valued.

    I would like to add couple of point.

    1. Its suggested to take Applications files (APPL_TOP & Techstack) backup at regular interval. I have seen few customer , who take only Database backup regularly. Its also good to take Applications files backup whenever there is a change ( Patching or configuration change)

    2. Please refer  Note 216212.1 (Business Continuity for Oracle Applications Release 11i, Database Releases 9i and 10g) which give lots of other details
