Tips & Techniques: Setting up Item as Purchased or Manufactured in different conditions

This is an outcome of discussions and inputs of threads and I wanted to document it as a Knowhow document.

Situation:

The customer has an item which she wants to make it purchased at the parent organization but want to purchase in one or more child organizations.

Solution:

Option 1: You can make the item as Manufactured (Build in WIP) or Purchased (Purchased) at Organization level.

For example in the Master Organization define the item as Purchased. When assigned to Inventory organizations, the same definition is reflected at organizations to which the item is assigned.
