Tips & Techniques: How to resolve when items cant be searched but visible in transactions

Scenario

Item Search doesn’t return the items even though existing  When the user searches the items are not getting populated. Whereas there are sales orders and WIP jobs there for the item which means the user sure item is existing. 

Solution

1. The search in Oracle Apps is case sensitive. So try wild card search like %pple if you search Apple because you may not know whether the item exists as apple or Apple. Or copy the item that you have already seen in transactions such as in WIP Job, Purchase Order or Sales order and paste the item name while searching.
