Option Specific Sourcing

In R12 release of Oracle Applications, new functionality of option specific sourcing (OSS) was introduced. The functionality helps the user to specify the valid sources in which demand for a configured item can be fulfilled.

This white paper covers the description of the new feature, the set up aspects for different business requirements and the behavior under various scenarios. In addition, the document addresses trouble-shooting guidelines for resolving errors and conflicts. At the end, the white paper also explains certain exceptions under which option specific sourcing is not applicable/ not handled.

The readers of this white paper are expected to be conversant with Oracle applications especially in the areas of advanced planning, order promising, configure to order and procurement. Any new term or acronym and abbreviations are elaborated for the first time and will be used further in the document
