Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Tips & Techniques: PTO Sales order shipment issue

Problem Statement

PTO Item has two components

Each component can be shipped independently

However for one component the status is moved to Closed immediately after shipment

For the second component the status remains Awaiting Shipping even after shipment is performed.

Solution

The basic checks to perform for this kind of cases include:

Ensure the PTO model is setup as "Ship Model Complete" (SMC). Navigation: Master Items form -> Order Management (Tab) -> Ship Model Complete (Check box).
Shipping setup should allow the SMC setup to be honored. Navigation: Shipping Parameters form -> Pick Release (Tab) -> Enforce Ship Sets and Ship Models (check box).
