Flashcopy Oracle Cloning - LUN Mappings from source to target
We are in the process of testing the source flashcopy luns of an Oracle DB by presenting them to a test server and bringing the database up, here is the clarification that we need.
With respect to the LUN mappings from the flashcopy of the production, do we need to retain to maintain the order in mappings to the target luns on the test system ?
Can't the LUNs be presented to the OS as they are without preserving the mapping of the /dev/rhdisk<num> -> ASM Disk , can this be an issue in bringing up the Oracle instance.
For example, if a disk header has rhdisk5 as DATA_ASM_0007 on the source, but that disk came up as rhdisk10 on the target mappings, how does ASM handle that.
