OSM 7.3.x Installation Changes/Enhancements

Technology Stack Changes

  • WebLogic 12c – 12.1.3
    • WebLogic 12c “Infrastructure” software already includes ADF runtime. No longer required to download  and install ADF separately
    • Before creating WLS Domain, you must create a Database Schema for it using RCU (Repository Creation Utility)
    • When selecting templates for domain creation:
      • You must select “Oracle JRF” and “Weblogic Coherence Cluster Extension” templates
      • Recommended to select “Oracle Enterprise Manager” template, but not mandatory
  • Database 12c – 12.1.0.2
    • New option in Oracle Database 12c – Oracle Multitenant
    • A multitenant container database (CDB), which can hold multiple pluggable database (PDB)
    • When using Oracle 12c in multitenant, OSM database shall be installed on a PDB (which is then contained by the CDB). Provide PDB service name (instead of CDB’s) when installing for WLS JRF template schema, and in OSM installer
