Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. Although Oracle allows you to customize Oracle eBusiness Applications to better serve the business need, it does not have intelligence to prevent poor implementation. Oracle leaves it to the Implementer to select better implementation path. This is no different than any other product. We'll cover some of the more common pitfalls and how to avoid them with easy “other ways”.

Value Sets vs Lookups vs Profile Options:

Lookups/Value-sets are good when there are multiple configuration records a program would be referring. Replace your lookup with a Profile option when you have a set up that will always have one set up record.
