Solaris 11: Multiple kernel panics after installing graphics card in workstation

After installing a graphics card - the workstation has severe issues booting (40 kernel panics over the last few days). This occurs only during boot, once the server has booted, it seems to work fine. Has anyone else observed similar issues? Is there a fix or workaround?
The graphics card is a Nvidia NVS 300 from PNY (PNY Part # VCNVS00X1DP-PB).
