/var is not enough space for install patch in Solaris 10 SPARC system

Hi,

I have a customer would like to plan for install latest CPU patch in Solaris 10 SPARC system.

As check file system size by (df -h) and found that system has around 1 GB in /var for install patches.

In CPU readme mentioned needed 5-6GB and if not enough space in /var should not install patches.

We have been perform clean up in /var (e.g. explorer and crash dump) 

Any alternate way we can free up space or increase space in /var file system? Can we clean up existing patches and install again?

Any comment would be appreciated.
