Oracle has a document for Printing bar codes and it does talk about Unix.  E1: PRINT: Printing Bar Codes within EnterpriseOne (Note 626166.1)

Yes. We have read and tried the steps as documents suggested but we are not successful. We are not sure what to do from here. Any suggestions?

Could you provide more details about what you are trying to do and what does not seem to be working? Barcodes can be used in standard EnterpriseOne reports (UBEs) and BI Publisher reports.

    Hi James,

Thank you for your reply.  All we are trying to do is get a bar code print when we do work order print.  We want the work order number to by bar coded so that we can use a scanner when we are processing work orders.  We have install the font to the PCL printer and change the work order report format to the code 39 font and the bar code is still not showing on the print.  If we print locally on our PC using windows the bar code does print.  But when the job goes to through the unix server is display the numberic value.  What is the best way that we can get help on this issue?  Do we need to find a consultant to come out to help resolve this issue?  or do you think this issue is small enough that we should be able to handle ourselves with the help from oracle support?

    Hi there,

Sorry, I did not see your response until a little while ago. Because you posted this in the documents section the post has less visibility. Next time post your questions in the discussion area.

Barcodes should work ok with PCL printers, however there are some restrictions. The main restriction is that th font must be uploaded to the printer before it can recognize the barcode font in the PDF sent from EnterpriseOne.

We have a document (626166.1) that says:

For PCL printers: You will have to purchase a soft font from a 3rd party to upload to the PCL printer, and then go into the Bar Code Font Revisions form and map the True Type Font name (BC C39 3to1 Medium) to the PCL Printer Font Name and Symbol Set ID.

    The solution has more details.

Now in all this I have assumed that you are able to get the barcode in the PDF coming out from E1.

    Regards,

    -James
