Status on Original Sales Quote order changing when canceling a sales detail line that was converted

Steps

  1. Enter SQ Sales Quote order
  2. Convert SQ to a sales order (order type = SO)
  3. Sales Quote lines auto update to 510 - 999
  4. Maintain the SO order and cancel a detail line
  5. Sales Quote line is being auto updated again for some reason and the status is changing from 510 - 999 to a status of 999 - 510.  What is causing this?

Hello, this is Matt from Oracle Support. I found some previous instances of this issue in our knowledge base and this seems to be functioning as programmed. The issue arose due to a BUG that was implemented back in the XE release: SAR 5832543 (BUG  10774634). This BUG was raised for Blanket orders (SB) but affects quote orders too. The reasoning behind the decision was as follows:
