    can you run FC (COMSTAR) on this simulator if the server running the simulator has a FC HBA which can be set in target mode?

    I am not sure whether this will work. The simulator is tested much less thoroughly than the actual product. Also, this may be more of a VirtualBox issue and how well they deal with block storage.
    Anyway, if it is possible, you'll likely need to tweak the 'storage' settings in virtual box, assuming you can see the HBA in there, and add some LUNs to the VM, roughly following the example of what's already in there for the SATA controller.
