Pick Grouping Rules and their Importance

In Shipping, for ease of picking you will group the Sales order lines according to some set rules. You have the flexibility to tell the system on basis of which parameters the pickslips can be generated for grouped lines.

The parameters available for grouping include:

  • Sales Order
    • Order Number
    • Customer
    • Ship to
    • Carrier
    • Trip Stop
    • Delivery
    • Shipment Priority
  • Common
    • Source Subinventory
    • Source Locator
    • Item
    • Revision
    • Destination Subinventory
    • Destination Locator
    • Project
    • Task
  • Manufacturing
    • Job/ Schedule
    • Operation
    • Department
    • Push / Push

As you see you have options to define the Pickslip grouping rules for Sales as well as Manufacturing and common aspects. This flexibility greatly eases out the picking process. For example, You have a shipment Priority based picking for specific item belong to Project.
