Cycle counting is one important activity to ensure the accuracy of Inventory at a defined priority level and criteria. While Physical counting is to count all items irrespective of items criticality, cost and other aspects Cycle counting works on basis of Prioritization. Cycle counting will count some items more frequently while others are counted in less frequent intervals based on multiple parameters. Most popular way of prioriritizing the counts is with reference to ABC classification.

When the Cycle counting schedules are generated it is important to ensure that the schedules fall in the working calendars to avoid surprises like Cycle counts scheduled on Sundays or other working holidays. Working calendar is hence mapped to the Cycle counting to tell what days and times are to be considered for scheduling cycle counts.
