ODM- How spam is handled when a subscriber marks the email as spam?

QUESTION

How spam is handled when a subscriber marks the email as spam?

ANSWER

When a subscriber marks an email as spam they get marked as unsubscribed so they are not targeted again. Marking an email as spam, your customers are reporting the sender as a spammer to the ISP (Internet Service Provider). In the world of ISPs marking something as spam is critical. It impacts the behavior of the subscriber at the ISP.

The ISP assumes that the subscriber does not want to receive those types of e-mails going forward. At several ISPs marking something as spam means every e-mail from that IP address/from address is going to go to spam.

Howdy, Stranger!
