ODM: How do I avoid my marketing emails being flagged as Spam?

Sending any form of email campaign, newsletter or autoresponder will always be subject to triggering spam filters. There are ways to improve your emails so they don't get accidentally marked as spam both by spam filters and your readers.

What are Email Service Providers looking for?

As a general rule, email service provider spam filters will look at the following:

1. Are you on a Blacklist?

2. Are you on a White List?

3. What is your Sender Reputation?

4. What is your Domain's Reputation?

5. Do you have any previous Spam Complaints?

6. Activity of your Email List Subscribers

7. Content of your Email

The above points are the primary items that email spam filters will check for and thankfully Oracle takes care of a lot of this for you.  Now, the question is...what can you do to avoid being flagged as spam and make it past those filters and into the inbox?

Howdy, Stranger!
