TSF_FORCE_CLOS_IND settings, IN_TRANSIT_QTY updates in SIM and RMS - Mystery explained
When a transfer is partially received in Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM) system (under or over received than the sent quantity), Retail Merchandising System (RMS) hangs on to in_transit_qty, but in SIM, the in_transit_qty is updated to zero.
Now this creates Stock On Hand (SOH) mismatch between RMS and SIM. The following is an explanation of how this occurs and what can be done in RMS and SIM to ensure that the SOH is in sync between both systems.
Refer to metalink Note#432841.1 - "What is the Functionality For New System Options Parameters: TSF_AUTO_CLOSE_STORE, TSF_AUTO_CLOSE_WH, and INCREASE_TSF_QTY_IND" for a description of various system options and an overview of how the transfer functionality is designed for RMS and SIM.
