Search/Query on JE's requiring approvals and from who

There is not currently a report that shows the approval history/workflow. I'm hoping there may be a workaround other than opening each JE and viewing the Approvals in order to get a list of JE's pending approval and from whom?

A re-assignment may need to be done for someone that is unexpectedly out of the office and ALL entries need to be re-assigned to an alt. approver in their absence. Currently I believe the only way to do this is open each JE in the Notifications and check who the approver currently is, if it the one you are looking for then re-assign it. This is tedious and very time consuming.
