Resizing asm disks on exadata x5-2 database server to a lower size not displayed on v$asm_disk?

  • resizing using the command below:-

alter diskgroup DATAC2 resize disks in failgroup dm02celadm01 size 4369067M, dm02celadm02 size 4369067M, dm02celadm03 size 4369067M rebalance power 64;

  • The below output is displayed:-

Diskgroup altered.

  • When i query the view v$asm_disk the original size of 6000688M is displayed
