Un-used ledger needs to be shut down

Oracle application 12.1.3

Database Version: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

We've a ledger that is no more in use and user wants to shut it down so they can exclude that ledger from every month end close process. What are the points to be checked before we shut down the ledger, especially Fixed assets which still needs to be closed each month even though there are no assets in it.
