Install procedure for IP 2020

Dear community,

I want to install IP 2020. From documentation it is not clear for me the procedure to be followed. What is the recommended approach?

  1. Install IP 2017, configure full instance in IP 2017, install IP 2020, repository upgrade.
  2. Install IP 2017, install IP 2020, configure full instance IP 2020.

When I say configure full instance I mean install siebel database + configuration of siebel modules.
