Procedure to extend raw disk used by ASM

Hello,

We have a database hosted on AWS, the database is in Enterprise Edition 12.1.0.2.0 on OEL 7.6

We are using ASM on this database and we need to increase the raw disk of the OS. Do we need to shutdown the ASM while the storage team do the increase?

Can you point me to a definitive guide on what to do when increasing the raw disk used by ASM?
