Question: Backup and Recovery for Oracle Database Appliance Upgrades on Virtualized Platform

Update: This is my first post here...thought I will leverage this forum as we may get different experiences, lesson learned, best practices from every one here including oracle experts and perhaps share my experiences as well. So, Please feel free to update and DM me as well. Thank you

Looking for fallback plan for the 19.8 upgrade - Virtualized platform.

unlike 18.x version, this 19.8 upgrade document seems to have the backup recommendation before starting patching/upgrade - I guess due to additional layer of OS-upgrade for 19.8

It does clearly explain/simple steps via rsync to backup odabase. I am planning to use the external drive and backup ( tar) the odabase from the dom0. However wondering about the following -
