Setting up Data Guard with ODA 19.8 - Mandatory to use ODACLI?

Hi

We are wondering if anyone has configured standby database with primary database being 2 node RAC database (on X7-2HA) and standby database being a stand alone database on X7-2M. Both source and target are running ODA 19.8

We did configure a standby database on an 18.5 ODA with 12c database using the conventional setup but WITHOUT using ODA utility at all. So we used the steps like we would for setting up standby on a conventional / non ODA boxes and then had to use the odacli register command to register the database in the ODA

The question is that do we need to use the ODACLI utility to configure and manage the standby on ODA?
