edited Jun 5, 2025 5:23AM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered ✓

I have a new install of OL8.2 on an X8-2 system. The machine is in my server room, and to get to it I ssh from my Sun Ultra 45 in my office running Solaris 10 SPARC. But, when I try: ssh newsys -l username, I get the password prompt, enter the PW, and then get this: "open terminal failed: missing or unsuitable terminal: dtterm" On my Sun I opened an xterm and could successfully login. BUT, this xterm is working waky to get all out. ls -l is all mangled and does not show

Howdy, Stranger!
