Inquiry regarding SDM REST API (SBC NMS): Oracle SDM Behaviour for open sessions

Good day!

I would like a clarification on how SDM maintains configuration for an SBC. To use an Oracle RDMS analogy, a client (such as USPS) interacts with the SDM to make changes to the state of a specific SBC instance, but those changes are not pushed to the SBC until calling the Update Configuration on a Device:

https://docs.oracle.com/en/industries/communications/session-delivery-manager/8.2/rest/op-versionid-configuration-devices-deviceid-action-post.html

According to Delete Pending Configuration Modifications:

 https://docs.oracle.com/en/industries/communications/session-delivery-manager/8.2/rest/op-versionid-configuration-deviceconfigs-deviceid-configurationchanges-delete.html

“Use this (DELETE) method to remove all configuration modifications in the SDM database that the user made on a targeted device. All users are assigned their own configuration modification staging area. This allows concurrent users to make modifications to their own staging area and not interfere with each other.”
