Hiding/Disabling MVG Add Button

How do I Hide or Disable the Add/Add All button in an MVG applet?

I tried to follow the steps in this document: How to Remove X-button from a Specific Popup Applet (Doc ID 2374756.1)

However, the MVG applet is not rendering properly. The "list" in the MVG applet is not getting displayed. If I inactivate the Manifest record, it shows up again. Please note that I have not yet made any changes on the js script as per the Oracle Doc except to change customPR to RespMvgPR.

I'm doing this using SAMPLE_XE against the Employee - Responsibility field.
