ORA-65174: invalid or conflicting name in service

EBS 12.1.3 running on RHEL separate app and db servers, on premise setup.

Trying to do my first rapid clone of an instance upgraded to 19c and following Doc ID 2560690.1. I go to step '4.1.6 Restore and Start the Target Database' and have used rman with 'duplicate target database' syntax to clone the source CDB database and that seemed to work fine as I now have a cloned CDB/PDB. I am going through the steps to rename the PDB but it throws the subject line error.

The conflicting name isn't the name of the PDB I am trying to rename but some old service_name I am not even familiar with. I found "Renaming 19c PDB Fails With "ORA-65174: invalid or conflicting name in service" (
