Online Patching In Progress Concurrent Job

in Install, Upgrade, Clone, Patch - EBS (MOSC) Question

Greetings!

We had this situation recently:

  1. Patch Cycle in progress
  2. EBS Concurrent Requests would not run and eventually exhausted the Linux processes
  3. Killed FNDLIBR processes to free resources
  4. Restarted db and app
  5. Adop patch phase showed failed
  6. Ended up aborting and restarting the patch cycle

Since we killed the concurrent process and restarted the app the "Online Patching In Progress" concurrent request ended. Is this job needed? We are on 12.2.9 and apparently there are restricting on functionality since 12.2.6.

I am wondering if the job could be started manually or just continue the patch cycle without the pgm running since there are no restrictions since 12.2.6.
