Upgrade PDBs and Migration Path to 19c RAC and ASM

Hello,

I have a RAC setup with 4 PDBs and a CDB.

Each of the PDBs are about 2 TBs each in size.

Current database version is 12.2.0.1 on RHEL 7.9

The requirement is to migrate and upgrade to 19c on a new VM RHEL 7.9.

The 2-node RAC VMs are already built and ready for the migration and database upgrade.

  1. What would be the best approach for upgrading and migrating these CDB and PDBs. I am new to PDBs and CDBs concept. (I have the basic training and concept.)
  2. If I decide to upgrade by using data-pump, how would I run the preupgrade to check for what needs to be fixed? Or does the import step take care of this?
