Benefits of multiple AM business units with one GL business unit
Hi - we are on PS 9.2 image 35, PT 8.58 and have one business unit for GL and one for AM. We are exploring moving to multiple business units.
I've been asked to research what multiple AM business units might enable beyond security, reporting, and transaction processing. I checked the PeopleBook and read that multiple BUs would let us define default processing options and books, book options, and accounting entry options for each book - and also independently control open periods.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I'll keep researching, but would multiple AM BUs also provide for processing assets differently, including depreciation rules or financial and accounting treatments?
