PDF format in Word Template Different than that within BI Publisher

First time experiencing the following. Data model has a built in blank row between a sub-total and total line. If I view report in Word the report correctly shows the blank row. When that template updates BI Publisher and the report is run the blank line is gone. Any explanation?
