How can the Average Cost Update transaction update a User Defined Cost Type?

in Cost Management - EBS (MOSC) Question

When entering an Average Cost Update transaction to update the Average Unit Cost, it does work and update the Average Unit Cost for the Defaulted "Average" Cost Type. How can I get this functionality to work with the Cost Type of "AvgRates"?

The client wants to update the Average Unit Cost of the Cost Type "AvgRates".

Any clarification you can provide would be appreciated.
