Logical Sector Size 12.2 - ASM

Have an issue as coming from 12.1 of grid w/o logical defined. When we show disks that are available … size is 512 logical, 4096 Physical and optimal transfer is 1M.

So in my previous system I have physical 4096 sector size 4096 … so on my new system … I have them set up w/ advanced of logical 4K/4K and a duplicate has no issues.


One of our databases ASM groups was set to 512/512 when it was created. I wanted to move the database to a new server and created it as 4K/4K. Restore was happening fine until it hit the archive logs … then it complained about the 512 … recreated the diskgroup with logical 512/P 4096 and it worked … then it would not open reset logs and it created the files … stuck in clearing … couldn't clear … again complaining about he 512.
