Preventing Duplicate Request Submissions

Is there a simple way to prevent a Pre defined request set from being submitted more than once a day? I'm sure there must be a limitation capability to restrict the running of a request / request set multiple times when not required. The reason for asking is that we have a custom set of processes that interact with third party systems and on a number of occasions recently, they have been mistakenly scheduled to run twice at the same time causing locks and many significant issues for the third party systems that then require unpicking.
