Code fix (not datafix) for issue in Note 351670.1 (Invalid Reference task id)

We are on 12.2.7. We've gotten the error message outlined in Document 351670.1 and had an SR to see if we could apply the datafix from this note. Support gave us the go-ahead and then closed the SR without answering the question regarding the code fix patch.

We've gotten the error again so I'm applying the code fix yet again.

Does anyone know what patch to apply to fix the code to prevent it from happening? I've tried to re-open my SR to get this answer but so far it hasn't been re-opened.
