Term Employee being picked in passive event

When we terminate employee we need to keep them in ben admin to process the term event but later on they are also get picked up on all passive events ( Age based, Service date based). How can we avoid them from getting picked in passive event? One way would be to do the correction on term row after term event is process and change them from ben admin to base benefit but I want to see if anyone has an y other option that doesn't involve a correction.
