Upgrading RHEL 6 to RHEL 7 on OVM

in Oracle VM (OVM) (MOSC) Question

Hi,

We are currently running a number of 2-node RAC 12.1.0.2 databases using RHEL version 6.10 on clustered VMs within OVM version 3.4.6. We understand that OVM is to be superseded in the future, but in the meantime we want to upgrade the databases to 19c. This means we must upgrade RHEL to version 7, It is unclear to me whether a direct in-situ upgrade on OVM would be supported (cf. https://access.redhat.com/solutions/637583). My question therefore is - has anyone performed such a upgrade and, if so, how did it go?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
