JDE Password change- making a new ID instead

We re working on changing the JDE user id password, which hasn't been changed for a long time.

We prepared plan according to Document ID 2594784.1

But Business is not convinced and has proposed an alternative.

They want us to instead create a new user ID , mirroring JDE and replace it in whatever places its used, one server at a time.

Is this a viable plan?

1. create a new user id, mirroring after JDE id
2. take one logic server (DV first), change the INI, all 3 places(DB, network, workflow)
3. restart the box and see if it worked fine
4. if it works, we do change all non-prod servers. same for bssv and html.
