Server migration and upgrade

Preparing for my final project before retirement. (Woo Hoo!).

I have two servers (prod and test) running Oracle 12.1.0.2 SE2 with Grid Infrastructure for standalone server (ASM, no RAC, no clustering, aka "Oracle Restart"). The GI has been upgraded to 18c. This is running on Oracle Linux 6.

We are purchasing new hardware and will install Oracle Linux 7, then migrate the ASM and databases. I am exploring ideas for the easiest, least risk method. I went through a similar exercise a few years ago when we upgraded from OL5 to OL6. Still looking for my notes.
