Using Future Segment as Intercompany Segment

HI

We are currently on 12.0.6 and are in the process to upgrade to 12.2.9

Our COA structure has 5 segments. It does not have any segment qualified as Intercompany segment.

Company Segment (Balancing segment) is of 2 char. Future Segment is of 3 char.

I have seen few other discussions wherein it was mentioned that we can use Future segment as Intercompany segment.

However, question is as the length of the two segments, Company & Future are not equal, will it cause any issue?

If yes, what options we have?
